Our Yellow Duck year, ages 2½ - 3½ years old, is a transition year. The main focus is on social/emotional skills and language development. This is a time for our youngest to adjust to a school environment and have opportunities to interact with their peer group. Our low 1:6 ratio allows our Educators to support their Yellow Duck students as they begin to understand what it means to be a part of a community.

The first part of the year is invested in bonding activities and helping the children come together as a class. As we move through the year, we work on expanding the development of gross motor and fine motor skills allowing the children to master independence in movement and tool manipulation. We strive to create independent children who are confident in the classroom and are capable of helping themselves and others.

While we do not require Yellow Duck children to be potty trained upon enrollment, we work closely with parents to develop a toilet learning plan to be completed by the end of the school year.
