Our Community

Raising a child in San Francisco is an adventure — and it's one that's so much richer when you don't have to navigate it alone.

At Alta Plaza Preschool, community isn't a feature of our program. It is our program. From the very first day your family walks through our doors, you become part of something that extends well beyond the classroom — a network of parents, children, and educators who show up for one another in the most genuine and meaningful ways.

Over the years, our families have celebrated birthdays and milestones together, gathered for social events, taken on community service projects side by side, and even ventured out on camping trips as a community. The friendships formed at APP have a way of lasting long after the preschool years — and that is something we are incredibly proud of.

Staying Connected

We believe that a strong partnership between home and school makes all the difference. That's why we use Cluster, a private, secure platform where our educators share photos, stories, and highlights from each day. It's a small but meaningful window into your child's world — and a way for you to feel present even when you can't be there in person.

A Community That Opens Doors

Our parent network is one of the most valuable — and most loved — aspects of life at APP. Families who have walked the path before are generous with their knowledge, their connections, and their support, particularly when it comes to navigating San Francisco's kindergarten admissions process. It comes as no surprise that Alta Plaza children consistently go on to thrive at some of the city's finest schools. That success is a reflection of the strong foundation built here — together.

When parents tell us why they chose APP, and why they recommend us to others, community is almost always at the top of the list. We think that says it all.
