As a play-based preschool, our core philosophy revolves around a child-centered curriculum. We believe in placing play at the forefront of learning, with our teachers dedicated to providing the necessary time, materials, and thoughtful guidance to support children in their play-based exploration. Our environment is carefully planned to reflect the unique interests of each child, recognizing that children are active, sensory learners who thrive on opportunities for exploration, social interaction, and problem-solving. Rather than focusing on predetermined outcomes, we prioritize the learning process itself.

Central to our approach is the use of an emergent curriculum. This involves introducing materials and interactions that spark the emergence of children's ideas and understandings. As children's interests evolve, we adapt by planning enriching activities that further enhance the learning environment. By valuing and responding to children's interests, we foster a genuine desire for learning. We acknowledge that despite our expertise as teachers, we can never fully anticipate what each child knows or how they arrived at that knowledge.

Recognizing the unique developmental needs of each age group, we tailor our curriculum to be developmentally appropriate for each stage of early childhood. Each year, we lay foundational skills that pave the way for future learning. The skills acquired during the Yellow Duck year, for example, are crucial for success as a Red Rooster, just as the skills developed as a Red Rooster are essential for thriving as a Blue Bird. The foundational skills cultivated during Pre-K as a Blue Bird equip children with the tools they need to embark on a successful academic journey in kindergarten.
